Salmon Day

I had this dish for my lunch today, which is called HARAKO-DON, which serves salmon roe spreaded on top of rice with seaweed in a bowl. It's the speciality to Murakami district, approximately 400km north of Tokyo Japan, where salmon fishery is largely being taken place.

And I enjoyed strolling around the town. A lot of salmons being salted and dried were hung beneath roofs. The view got my eyes really opened. The salmons are to be served as one of the special dishes for New Year's Day.

What's up?

Suddenly Bandai bridge in the vicinity of my condo got lightning in blue! I found this was for World diabetes day's campaign.

Meeting swans

Today I visited a pond called Hyoko that locates about 300Km from Tokyo and enjoyed birds watching. This pond is well known as a site where a lot of swans fly over from the nothern part of the globe to stay during whole winter. There are about 5000 or so as of Nov.8th. The views of flying swans with the background of colored leaves are amazing!

Something new, something strange

▽T-shirt. I got it at a shop in Minamiuonuma town, Niigata pref.,JPN. The logo is the one which is used by a Japanese sake (rice wine) company as a brand of very popular sake. How do you like it?

▽What the hell is this white guy, coming up next to Mitsukoshi department store?

A new town, a new life

I’ve just moved to a bayside town 200 miles north of Tokyo, as I was transferred to another branch. My condo stands at the riverside and it’s very comfortable ‘cause it has a good sunlight and view. I am enjoying fresh air, the finest brand rice of the nation, and seafood here. The cells that make up my body all over seem to be completely revised.

It’s close to both a harbor and airport. The museum and the hall are great.
Today I got on the river shuttle just for sightseeing. There is a boarding gate near my condo. It’s been a pleasure. I happened to know that an art piece came up at the riverside. It is that a modern art festival is going on in this town, and this is one of the works which are displayed.
This is produced by a male artist from Taiwan, which symbolizes the harmony of water and land. You can step into this. You would get something that makes you relax and refresh.

Countdown

I'm going to be transferred to another branch in a city in northern part of JPN. Tough to pack everything in my condo. Ready to take off. Now too busy to post something new to my blog or drop by yours for commenting something, but I'll do that soon!

The new item

▽Actually I’ m collecting any toys or accessories of YODA. Somehow I like him best of all the characters of STAR WARS. And this is the computer sitter that I bought today at Kiddy Land in Omotesando, Tokyo. This is from Funko, a toy company in and quite cool. Looks like it brings me the FORCE to make everything annoys me drastically better as looking at.

BTW, “ chourou” means “ a very old man who dominates and governs a group of people such as family or “ a great master”. LOL

You write LOL or laugh and loud just like (笑)in Japanese.

My younger daughter got a Blyth doll there.

▽It was really something about Michael Jackson’s death last week. Allegedly he was killed by too much drags or surgery but it still remains uncertain. When Thriller was released, I was a high school student and got very excited once I listened to. True, Thriller is great, but I like other works such as Girl is Mine, with Paul McCartney, or Off the Wall, alike. He has gone, but I believe his remarkable FORCE to move a great many of people around the world will survive forever.

Green week

I've been in the GREEN ACTION that my blog mate Reduce Footprints(http://reducefootprints.blogspot.com/) suggested last Wednesday, and I've just tried to take a short shower last week at first hand. Plus,I have not taken any plastic bag when shopping at supermarkets. These seem a subtle but at the same time, a great first step to achieve something big, worthy, I would say. I mentioned this on Twitter(http://twitter.com/Chourou).
Thanks for sharing, SF!
